Client PBC Lists
The Prepared by Client (PBC) tab within each audit engagement manages the document request process between your firm and the client. It integrates directly with the Client Portal so clients can upload documents against specific line items.
How PBC Works
- Create requests — From the engagement's PBC tab, add PBC line items. AtlasOS auto-seeds a standard PBC template on engagement creation.
- Send to client — PBC requests appear as a checklist in the client's portal.
- Client uploads — Clients log into the portal and upload files against each request item. The status changes from Requested to Provided.
- Team notification — Your team is notified via the Smart Inbox when items are uploaded.
- Review and accept — Mark items as Accepted or Request Revision.
PBC Statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Requested | Item created, awaiting client upload |
| Provided | Client has uploaded the document |
| Accepted | Firm has reviewed and accepted the document |
| Revision Requested | Document uploaded but not acceptable — client needs to re-submit |
PBC Item Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Item Description | What document or data is requested |
| Category | Grouping (e.g. "Financial", "Tax", "Legal", "HR") |
| Due Date | When the item is needed |
| Priority | High, Medium, Low |
| Notes | Additional instructions for the client |
KPIs on Engagement Dashboard
PBC status is surfaced on the engagement list view:
pbc_outstanding_count— Number of items where the client has not yet uploaded — shown as🕐 X PBC outstandingbadge
Portal Integration
Clients see a clean checklist in their portal:
- Each item shows the description, category, and due date
- Upload button per item with drag-and-drop support
- Status indicators showing what's been submitted and what's still outstanding
- No access to other engagement data — PBC items are scoped to the portal
